News: Gibson was released by the Dolphins on Friday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Impact: Gibson joins former teammate Brian Hartline, who was released by the Dolphins earlier in the day. With Mike Wallace's status with the team still in limbo, the only sure thing regarding Miami's receiving corps is that Jarvis Landry will have a significant role in 2015. Gibson played well as the Dolphins No. 3 wideout in 2013, before a torn patellar tendon ended his season early. He then struggled in 2014, producing just 5.8 yards per target on 51 looks. He may need to compete for a roster spot in training camp, depending on where he lands. The Dolphins are purging their roster of the players they unwisely overpaid in past seasons.

News: Gibson finished the 2014 season with 29 receptions for 295 yards and a touchdown.
Impact: Gibson had 51 targets on the season, but is not better than fourth or fifth on the progression list for quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He could be on the roster bubble once again going into next season.
