Leonard’s 39 points, defense, lead Spurs by Harden, Rockets

Kawhi Leonard made his case for MVP on Monday night in lifting the San Antonio Spurs to a thrilling 112-100 win over the Houston Rockets. Late in the fourth quarter, Leonard hit a 3-pointer that gave the Spurs a two-point lead. Then he blocked James Harden’s layup attempt on the next possession. Leonard finished with 39 points -- fourth consecutive 30-plus point game.
