News: Thomas signed a 10-day deal with the Grizzlies on Tuesday, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Impact: Thomas, who has not played in the NBA since the 2012-13 season, recently spent two games with the Iowa Energy of the D-League, where he caught the attention of the Grizzlies. The former top-five pick has generally been written off as a bust, but at 28 years old, he's still an excellent athlete who can rebound and block shots. Right now it's unclear how he'll fit in with the Grizzlies, but it's a low-risk move that could pay dividends if he carves out a regular bench role.
