News: Motiejunas will have to compete with Terrence Jones for the starting power forward job, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reports.
Impact: There was also an open competition last year for the power forward job, and Jones averaged almost double the minutes Motiejunas saw, so until there's a concrete sign that something has changed, the odds are stacked against the versatile Lithuanian.

News: Jones will have to compete with Donatas Motiejunas for the starting power forward job, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reports.
Impact: This is the same kind of coach-driven competition that happened all of last season, and Jones ended up edging out Motiejunas, seeing 27.3 minutes per game versus his Lithuanian counterpart's 15.4 mpg. Unless something changes between now and the start of the season, Jones is the power forward on the Rockets that fantasy owners should be targeting. The Rockets are expected to pick up Jones' fourth-year option by the Oct. 31 deadline, barring any unforeseen developments.

News: Mitchell was signed to a camp contract with the Rockets on Friday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact: Mitchell finished his senior season at Virginia averaging 6.8 points, 1.2 assists, 7.0 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 26 minutes per game, while starting in 36 games. He was likely brought in just as a camp body and he should have a tough time making the team with a ton of depth already at the forward position.

News: Terry was officially traded to the Rockets on Wednesday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact: The Rockets also acquired two second-round draft picks from the Sacramento Kings for Alonzo Gee, Scotty Hopson and a trade exception. Terry, the league's Sixth Man of the Year in 2009 and 2011, averaged a career-low 4.5 points in 35 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season before being traded to Sacramento at the trade deadline. The 37-year-old veteran didn't play a single game for the Kings as he recovered from a left knee injury. Terry joins a crowded Houston backcourt and will compete for back-up minutes with Troy Daniels, Isaiah Canaan, Ish Smith and Nick Johnson.
