News: The Detroit Pistons formally introduced Meeks on Monday after signing the free agent to a $19.5 million, three-year deal.
Impact: The Pistons hope Meeks will help bolster their perimeter shooting after he averaged a career-high 15.7 points last season for the Los Angeles Lakers, taking advantage of the opportunity that came about because of Kobe Bryant's injury problems. Meeks has averaged 9.7 points over his five-year career.

News: Butler agreed to a two-year deal with the Pistons on Sunday, the Detroit News reports.
Impact: The deal will pay Butler $9 million over the two seasons, but Year 2 is a team option. After beginning the season with the Bucks, Butler was dealt to the Thunder mid-season. He went on to appear in 22 regular season contests and 18 postseason games. In 23.3 minutes during the playoffs, Butler averaged 6.3 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 32.4 percent from the field. The veteran will almost certainly step into a bench role for the Pistons.

News: Caldwell-Pope posted 12 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and five rebounds in 27 minutes during the Pistons' 96-87 loss versus the Magic at the Orlando Summer League on Friday.
Impact: Caldwell-Pope had been dominant in every summer-league game up until Friday, scoring 26 points or more in every contest, but he was held in check offensively by the Magic's Victor Oladipo. Caldwell-Pope also committed five turnovers, but overall he played inspired basketball at the Orlando Summer League. Expect him to continue to work hard this summer as he looks to ready himself for his sophomore season.

News: Caldwell-Pope (ankle) was back in the lineup to start the second half of Tuesday's summer league game, NBA.com's Keith Langlois reports.

News: Caldwell-Pope was helped off the court Tuesday after rolling his ankle during summer league play.
Impact: It's not clear how serious Caldwell-Pope's ankle injury is, but hopefully he can get back on the court in short order, as he's been one of the best performers at summer league in Orlando. He had 30 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes Sunday, and is clearly a rung above most of the competition he's facing. He may be done with game action in Orlando, as Friday marks the fifth and final game, but consider him day-to-day for now.
