News: Harrellson was waived by the Pistons on Tuesday to make room for Caron Butler, the Detroit News' Vincent Goodwill reports.
Impact: The 6-10 forward has yet to spend more than one season with an NBA team, and he has never topped the 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game he averaged with the Knicks in 2011-12 as a rookie. He'll try to catch on elsewhere, or perhaps take his game to the D-League.

News: Siva was waived by the Pistons on Tuesday to make room for D.J. Augustin, the Detroit News' Vincent Goodwill reports.
Impact: It seems likely that Siva will catch on with another NBA team at some point before the season, but he has yet to show that he's anything more than a third point guard.

News: The Detroit Pistons formally introduced Meeks on Monday after signing the free agent to a $19.5 million, three-year deal.
Impact: The Pistons hope Meeks will help bolster their perimeter shooting after he averaged a career-high 15.7 points last season for the Los Angeles Lakers, taking advantage of the opportunity that came about because of Kobe Bryant's injury problems. Meeks has averaged 9.7 points over his five-year career.

Impact: Augustin was waived by Toronto early last season, but the 26-year-old point guard caught on with Chicago after that and ended up averaging 13.1 points for the season.

News: A person familiar with the situation says the Detroit Pistons have agreed to deals with free agents Butler and D.J. Augustin.

News: Butler agreed to a two-year deal with the Pistons on Sunday, the Detroit News reports.
Impact: The deal will pay Butler $9 million over the two seasons, but Year 2 is a team option. After beginning the season with the Bucks, Butler was dealt to the Thunder mid-season. He went on to appear in 22 regular season contests and 18 postseason games. In 23.3 minutes during the playoffs, Butler averaged 6.3 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 32.4 percent from the field. The veteran will almost certainly step into a bench role for the Pistons.

News: Augustin has agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the Pistons, David Aldridge of TNT reports.
Impact: After spending his first four NBA seasons with the Hornets (then Bobcats), Augustin has bounced around of late, playing for Indiana, Toronto and Chicago within the past two seasons. He'll now head to Detroit, where he'll compete for the backup point guard role behind Brandon jennings. In 61 games for the Bulls last season, Augustin averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 30.4 minutes.

News: Caldwell-Pope posted 12 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and five rebounds in 27 minutes during the Pistons' 96-87 loss versus the Magic at the Orlando Summer League on Friday.
Impact: Caldwell-Pope had been dominant in every summer-league game up until Friday, scoring 26 points or more in every contest, but he was held in check offensively by the Magic's Victor Oladipo. Caldwell-Pope also committed five turnovers, but overall he played inspired basketball at the Orlando Summer League. Expect him to continue to work hard this summer as he looks to ready himself for his sophomore season.
