News: The Cavaliers have signed Wiggins, a contract that prevents him from being traded for 30 days. Wiggins has been linked to a possible blockbuster trade with Minnesota for All-Star forward Kevin Love. But any deal now involving Wiggins can't be finalized for at least 30 days.
Impact: The Cavs had been reluctant to include Wiggins in a package for Love, but the team has softened its stance and may be willing to part with the former Kansas standout. Cleveland is interested in bringing in Love to form a ''Big 3'' with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. That trio would make the Cavs an overwhelming favorite in the Eastern Conference.

News: Bennett is able to breathe better on the court now after he had his tonsils removed, Basketball Insiders reports.
Impact: After a disappointing rookie season, Bennett averaged 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in four games at the Las Vegas Summer League. After having his tonsils removed back in May, the Asthma-affected Bennett gave a lot of credit for his solid performance this summer to his ability to breathe more freely than he could before. He did average 3.0 turnovers per game, but overall it was a promising showing from the soon-to-be sophomore, and he seems ready to step up and be more of a factor entering 2014-15.
John Lucas - #5 - Point Guard - 5'11" - 166lbs
News: Lucas was traded to Cleveland along with Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy for Carrick Felix, a second-round pick, and cash, Yahoo! reports.
Impact: Lucas does not have a guaranteed contract, which was of interest to Cleveland because they are getting their books in order before making a likely push for Kevin Love. Over the past three seasons, Lucas has filled the role of backup point guard for the Bulls, Raptors, and Jazz. While he will he likely be waived or traded by the Cavaliers, he could land on an NBA roster.
Malcolm Thomas - #22 - Forward - 6'9" - 215lbs
News: Thomas was acquired by Cleveland along with John Lucas and Erik Murphy for Carrick Felix, a second-round pick, and cash, Yahoo! reports.
Impact: Thomas played well in Las Vegas Summer League for the Jazz, but Cleveland acquired him for his non-guaranteed contract in an apparent effort to get their books in order for a Kevin Love deal. The forward from San Diego State has some rebounding potential if he can get consistent minutes on an NBA squad, but he won't likely be on Cleveland.
Erik Murphy - #33 - Forward-Center - 6'10" - 230lbs
News: Murphy was traded to Cleveland along with John Lucas and Malcolm Thomas for Carrick Felix, Yahoo! reports. The Jazz also acquired a second-round pick and cash.
Impact: Murphy has a non-guaranteed contract, which was of interest to Cleveland which is trying to get its books in order to make a likely push to get Kevin Love. The former Florida Gator will probably not start the season with Cleveland, but could offer frontcourt depth for some NBA team.

News: A person familiar with the negotiations says the Cavaliers will sign No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to a contract, an imminent deal that would prevent any potential trade from being completed for 30 days.
Impact: Wiggins has been linked to a possible trade with Minnesota for All-Star forward Kevin Love. The person familiar with the talks says he will sign with Cleveland as early as Wednesday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the team is not commenting on its plans. The Cavs and Timberwolves have had ongoing discussions about a trade for Love since before the draft.

Impact: Dellavedova did commit 4.0 turnovers per game, but overall he was pretty solid in the summer league, and he'll likely have every opportunity to earn considerable time in a reserve role with the Cavaliers in 2014-15.

News: Since he arrived in Las Vegas and found out LeBron James was coming to Cleveland with him, Wiggins has heard his name brought up in possible trade scenarios as the Cavaliers pursue Minnesota All-Star Kevin Love. They continued on Thursday, with several outlets reporting that the Cavaliers have decided to make the No. 1 overall pick available, a prerequisite from the Timberwolves to get any deal for Love done.
Impact: Wiggins is showcasing his immense talent in the NBA summer league, where he scored 21 points in 31 minutes on Thursday night in a loss to the Houston Rockets.

Impact: Powell played four years at Stanford, averaging 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds. The 6-11, 240-pound forward is the fourth Canadian on Cleveland's roster, joining Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins, this year's top overall pick.

News: LeBron James told Sports Illustrated Friday that he's decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's a move that would have seemed unfathomable four years ago, after the venomous fallout that followed his decision to leave Cleveland for the Miami Heat.
Impact: James told SI in a first-person story: "My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn't realize that four years ago. I do now." He spent his first seven NBA seasons in Cleveland. In four years with the Heat, he went to the NBA Finals four times, winning two championships.
