News: Edwards signed with Cleveland on Sunday.
Impact: Edwards played with the Cavaliers last season under a 10-day contract but ultimately spent most of his time with their D-League affiliate in Canton. The terms of this current contract haven't been released, but it's almost certainly a non-guaranteed contract for just the 2014-15 season. Despite signing Sunday, Edwards will need to have an impressive training camp to make the final 15-man roster used during the regular season.

News: Crawford signed with the Cavaliers on Sunday.
Impact: The terms of the contract haven't been released, but it's likely a non-guaranteed contract for just the 2014-15 season. However, Crawford will head into training camp needing to prove his worth before he's officially announced as a member of the regular season roster. Considering that he went undrafted out of Memphis and has depth ahead of him at the guard spot, his chances of making the team are slim.

News: Haywood was a full participant in the Cavs' first practice of the season, the Akron Beacon Journal's Jason Lloyd reports.
Impact: Coach David Blatt said he wasn't expecting Haywood to be able to take part in all the drills considering he's still recovering from last season's foot surgery. Blatt called Haywood the surprise of practice, and it would seem likely that he will continue to be a strong participant throughout camp. However, in his last full season (2012-13 with Charlotte), Haywood only saw 19 minutes per game, and his per-36 minute numbers only averaged out to nine rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, so he's a very low-end fantasy option as the backup in Cleveland.

News: Love understands that he may need to sacrifice some of his excellent numbers in the name of winning, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports. He said, "I've watched guys like Wade and different players that have to sacrifice. I'd be lying to myself and everybody here if I was telling you I didn't have to sacrifice. … I'm willing to do whatever it takes for this team to win because at the end of the day, that's what we want, is to win."
Impact: Love has been a consistent presence in first rounds of early and mock drafts, but his new owners may be in for a rude shock. Love did average 20.2 points on 14.1 field goals in 2010-11 and he might see similar shot attempts with Cleveland. Perhaps improved shooting efficiency will offset his lost counting numbers.

News: Waiters is not sure if he will start or come off the bench for Cleveland, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. He also noted, "I know the ball isn't going to be in my hands that much, probably. So you have to find a way to impact the game - if it's not just scoring, probably on the defensive end also."
Impact: It sounds as if Waiters is heading to training camp with the right attitude. He has endured a lot of losing in his first two seasons in the NBA, but time will tell if he can adapt to a subordinate role. Waiters showed that he could hit 3-pointers last season, and he may see a lot of open looks in the new season.

News: James met the media in his return to Cleveland on Friday.
Impact: The Cavs credentialed more than 300 media members that were on hand to see James, who explained his recent weight loss - he went on a strict two-month diet - was a personal challenge. Not only does he need to adjust to new teammates, but James will play for David Blatt, a successful international coach whose first job in North America is to take this talent-laden squad to the finals.

News: Haywood is almost fully recovered from last season's foot surgery and plans to practice from the onset of training camp, which begins Saturday, Northeast Ohio Media Group reports.
Impact: Haywood will be limited in certain drills, but the plan is to increase his activity as camp wears on with the ultimate goal of having him ready to contribute when the regular season begins. The 34-year-old will serve as a reserve center this season, backing up Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson.

News: Thompson will see minutes at center and may even start at the five, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Although undersized, the team believes that Thompson could handle opposing centers on the defensive end.
Impact: It was widely expected that Anderson Varejao would start at center, but coach David Blatt may want to limit the 31 year old's minutes. Thompson is represented by LeBron James' agent Rich Paul and could be in for a nice contract extension. Whether he starts or not, the fourth-year forward should get quality minutes and could be the team's leading rebounder.

News: Amundson signed a training camp deal with the Cavaliers on Friday, HoopsHype reports.
Impact: The deal is unguaranteed, but the veteran big man will have an outside chance of cracking the roster if the team determines it could use another interior defender. Amundson played 18 games for the Pelicans and one for the Bulls last season.
