News: Henderson (hamstring) will not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Pacers, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Henderson went through non-contact portions of Wednesday's practice, but his hamstring soreness will prevent him from making a preseason appearance. Nonetheless, the swingman is thought to be close to returning to action, making his status worthwhile to monitor in advance of the Bobcats' Oct. 29 regular season opener.

News: Coach Steve Clifford (hernia) said Tuesday that Vonleh could enter the rotation by mid-season, Steve Clifford of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: A sports hernia has sidelined Vonleh since the beginning of camp, and the implication from Clifford is that Vonleh will be far behind in learning the system by the time he returns to practice, which should be soon. The lottery pick out of Indiana is a fairly raw prospect, regardless, and it's unlikely he would have played a major role to begin the season even if he was healthy. Once he's adapted to the pace of the NBA game later in the season, Vonleh figures to slide into the frontcourt rotation as a backup to Al Jefferson, Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller. Defensively, he's a work in progress, but Vonleh is an excellent rebounder who can step out and shoot the three.
News: Henderson (hamstring) was able to work out Monday and is aiming to make a return against the Pacers on Thursday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Henderson has dealt with a strained hamstring for the past two weeks but appears to be turning a corner just in time for the start of the season. While his availability is still in question for Thursday's preseason game, a return before the start of the regular season on Oct. 29 is looking bright.
News: Stephenson was held out of Monday's preseason tilt in Atlanta due to a sore groin, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Monday's outing is the Hornets' seventh this exhibition season, but Stephenson has only logged time in four due to an assortment of ailments. Overall, he's averaging 10.8 points (on 42.5 percent shooting), 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 30 minutes. Once the regular season commences, his full arsenal will be on full display, if he's unhindered by injury, of course.
News: Henderson (hamstring) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Impact: Henderson is still battling a strained hamstring that's kept him out of action throughout the preseason. The injury has prevented him from competing with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the starting small forward spot, and Kidd-Gilchrist will likely win the position by default.
Marvin Williams - #2 - Forward - 6'9" - 237lbs
News: Williams (elbow) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Impact: Williams is listed as out with a right elbow contusion, presumably suffered during Sunday's loss to the Bulls. It doesn't look like anything serious, though, and Williams remains on track to open the season as the starting power forward, where he should see plenty of time on the perimeter.
Al Jefferson - #25 - Forward-Center - 6'10" - 289lbs
News: Jefferson will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Impact: The veteran will take the night off to rest on the second half of a back-to-back. Jefferson had 12 points and eight rebounds in 32 minutes Sunday against Chicago.
News: Stephenson scored 14 points (7-11 FG) in Sunday's preseason loss to the Bulls.
Impact: After missing Friday's game with a hamstring pull, Stephenson returned to action Sunday, as expected, and played a full complement of minutes. Barring a setback, he appears to have moved past the hamstring issue.

News: Henderson (hamstring) won't be available for Sunday's preseason game against the Bulls, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Henderson has been nursing a strained hamstring for the past two weeks and has had a limiting training camp as a result. His next opportunity to make a return will be against the Hawks on Monday.
Oct 19, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stephenson (hamstring) will play in Sunday's preseason game against the Bulls, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Stephenson has been dealing with a minor hamstring pull for the last week of training camp. However, his availability for Sunday's preseason game seems to denote that his viability for the regular season shouldn't be in question, unless his hamstring responds poorly against the Bulls.
News: Walker (knee) will play in Friday's preseason game, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
Impact: Bonnell said Walker will "give it a try," so it's unlikely that the Bobcats' point guard plays significant minutes. Nonetheless, it's encouraging that he will take the court, and is on track to be relatively healthy for the start of the regular season.
News: Walker (knee) will be evaluated before Friday's preseason game against the Wizards to determine if he can in fact play.
Impact: Originally Walker was ruled out for Friday's game, but he's apparently progressed enough to participate in pregame warmups. Considering that he's close to returning, his knee injury doesn't seem too concerning for his viability during the regular season.
News: Stephenson (hamstring) will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Wizards.
Impact: Stephenson pulled his hamstring during Thursday's practice but the injury doesn't seem to be anything serious. The Hornets will err on the side of caution and examine Stephenson before their next preseason game against the Bulls on Sunday.
News: Walker (knee) will not play Friday against the Wizards.
Impact: Walker sustained a knee contusion earlier in the week and will miss his second consecutive preseason contest. He should be fine when the regular season opens, and he'll begin the year as the unquestioned starter at point guard.
News: Henderson (hamstring) had a setback this week and will not play Friday.
Impact: Henderson is nursing a sprained hamstring but was on track earlier in the week to play Friday in D.C. or Sunday in Chicago. If he's unable to go in either of those games, Henderson will shoot for a return in the team's final preseason game Oct. 23 against Indiana. Henderson is in competition with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for a starting spot, and Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four preseason contests.
News: Stephenson pulled his hamstring during Thursday's practice and is questionable to play Friday against the Wizards, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: While the injury isn't anything serious, Stephenson could miss a few days in the short-term, as Charlotte is likely to be cautious with their big free agent addition.
Gary Neal - #12 - Guard - 6'4" - 210lbs
Wed. Oct 15, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Neal scored 20 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3P, 10-10 FT) with three rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's preseason loss to the Pistons.
Impact: The work he put in this offseason to get slimmer and quicker paid off Wednesday, as Neal was able to attack the basket and get to the line almost at will. He's always been a great free throw shooter, converting at almost 90% last season, so if he add some free throw volume to his offensive arsenal he should easily be able to establish a new career scoring high.

News: Walker (knee) will not play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Pistons.
Impact: Walker sustained a minor knee contusion in Monday's game against the Magic, and he'll be held out, likely for precautionary reasons. The ailment shouldn't affect Walker for more than a few days, and his status for the regular season opener is not in jeopardy.
Mon. Oct 13, 2014 | STATS
News: Walker suffered a contusion on his left knee during Monday night's NBA preseason game against Orlando.
Impact: Walker was injured early in the third quarter. With 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter, Walker had come up with his own rebound on a missed 3-pointer, and was driving to the basket for a layup when he suddenly pulled up. He didn't return, and it's unclear if the injury is serious.
News: Walker said after Monday's preseason win against the Magic that he may require a few days off, but his left knee contusion isn't serious, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Taking Walker's words at face value put in peril an appearance in the Hornets' next contest Wednesday versus the Pistons. However, a lengthy absence isn't expected, which should result in active status before long. After two-plus exhibitions, he's averaged 12.3 points (on 48.3 percent shooting), 4.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and one three-pointer in 23.3 minutes. Expect steals to return to his line once he's logging his normal 35-38 minutes per night.
News: Walker left Monday's preseason game versus the Magic with a left knee contusion and won't return, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: Walker's removal was likely precautionary, but his status should be watched in the coming days to learn if he misses any additional time. Before suffering the injury, he put together a jam-packed line, with 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five dimes, and one steal in 17 minutes.
Jeff Taylor - #44 - Guard-Forward - 6'7" - 225lbs
News: Taylor had his pretrial hearing moved to October 29th, USA TODAY Sports reports.
Impact: Taylor was arrested back in September for malicious destruction of a building and domestic assault of his girlfriend. He has pleaded not guilty but could face up to a year in jail if charged. Taylor is still barred from team activities in the mean time.

News: Stephenson (toe) practiced Sunday, Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
Impact: Stephenson suffered a cut on his small toe, but it looks as though he is over the injury. If there are still any lingering effects from the cut, they should not be an issue for opening day, where Stephenson figures to be one of Charlotte's main play makers.
Fri. Oct 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach Steve Clifford said he hopes to have Stephenson (toe) back at practice Sunday, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
Impact: Stephenson has a deep cut on one of his small toes, and will be held out of Friday's preseason game, but it sounds like the injury won't keep him out for long.
Fri. Oct 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Stephenson is out Friday with a cut on his small toe, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
Impact: It sounds like a minor injury, and Stephenson might be able to play in the Hornets' next preseason game Monday. For now, consider him day-to-day.
Thu. Oct 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Vonleh (hernia) played 1-on-1 this week and could be cleared for 5-on-5 as early as next week, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact: The rookie is dealing with a sports hernia, which has kept him out of most camp activities to date. However, he's progressing more quickly than anticipated and could return in time to see some preseason action toward the end of the month.
Thu. Oct 9, 2014 | STATS
News: Vonleh has seen action in the preseason after his recovery from sports hernia surgery.
Impact: Coach Steve Clifford told the Charlotte Observer that Vonleh won't be ready for the start of the season.

News: Henderson has suffered a right hamstring strain, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Impact: Henderson's status is in doubt for the season opener against the Bucks.
News: Walker scored 13 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3P, 3-4 FT) with three rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes during Wednesday's preseason game against the Sixers.
Impact: With Gerald Henderson currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Walker should get plenty of minutes alongside new teammate Lance Stephenson to try and develop some chemistry together. He could be primed for a breakout season, but a lot will depend on how well Walker meshes with the Hornets' new two guard.
News: Stephenson scored 13 points (4-10 FG, 2-3 3P, 3-6 FT) with five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes during his Hornets' preseason debut on Wednesday.
Impact: With Gerald Henderson currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Stephenson should get plenty of minutes at shooting guard over the next couple of weeks to help him get acclimated to his new teammates and system.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - #14 - Small Forward - 6'7" - 232lbs
News: Kidd-Gilchrist started at small forward for the Hornets in Wednesday's preseason game against the Sixers, scoring 11 points (3-8 FG, 5-6 FT) with seven rebounds, two steals and a block in 27 minutes.
Impact: Gerald Henderson's hamstring injury is giving Kidd-Gilchrist a head start in their battle for a starting role, but he didn't exactly set the world on fire in this one. MKG and his retooled jump shot might need to show a little more on the offensive end if he wants to lock up the job before Henderson gets back in a week or two.
Tue. Oct 7, 2014 | RotoWire
News: An MRI on Tuesday revealed Henderson has a sprained hamstring, and he's expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks.
Impact: Henderson will miss a handful of preseason games, which could impact his chances of earning the starting small forward spot over Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
