Trail Blazers do their part to keep their city weird with ‘Portlandia’ cameo

Put a bird on it: The Blazers get a pep talk from Toni and Candace.

Trail Blazers

Members of the Portland Trail Blazers are doing their part to bring attention to their city’s unique local culture by appearing on an episode of "Portlandia."

In an NBA-themed sketch for the IFC comedy series, which pokes gentle fun at the Oregon city’s many quirks, feminist bookstore owners Toni (Carrie Brownstein) and Candace (Fred Armisen) visit the Moda Center specifically to root on the BlazeDancers. Naturally, they run into players LeMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard, Robin Lopez, Thomas Robinson, C.J. McCollum and Paul Allen as well.

Check out this clip from the episode, which airs Thursday:

Turns out this isn’t Aldridge’s first time at the "Portlandia" rodeo. The power forward has also made a memorable appearance as Penny Marshall’s genteel, v-neck sweater-wearing boy toy back in Season 2:

He also got a jersey and put a bird on it.
