Stephen Curry's ridiculous first half lifts Golden State Warriors over Hornets
Stephen Curry made eight threes in the first half and the Golden State Warriors clobbered the Charlotte Hornets.

After missing a game for battling the flu, Golden State Warriors MVP guard Stephen Curry picked up where he left off. Curry always has something special in the tank for his hometown Charlotte Hornets when plays them and that was once again the case on Wednesday night. His first half was the story of this game.

Golden State exploded on offense in the first quarter of the game. The ball was being swung around and there was plenty of movement. Curry and Klay Thompson couldn’t miss from beyond the arc and hitting five of six threes to begin the game set the pace. Charlotte struggled to make their baskets while giving up 41 points.
Curry continued to get ridiculous from there. He would make eight three-point field goals in the first half and put himself on a record pace to go after 13, which he set earlier this season. The best highlight of the night came as he shook off Marvin Williams and sent him to the floor. He made the splash and the game was over by that point.
Golden State would crush again in the third quarter and set themselves up for garbage time in the fourth quarter. Curry would leave with 11 threes on the night and likely could have gone for the record, but Golden State was up by so much it wasn’t necessary. After all, he already has the record by himself and likely will break it again sometime down the line.
Without Zaza Pachulia for a week, JaVale McGee asserted himself well in the minutes he played. He finished as a +27 and was productive. He had an impressive four blocks and really controlled the paint and didn’t let Charlotte take it to him inside.
The Warriors emptied the bench and everyone got their chance to play. Everyone also scored and got their name in the stat sheet. Once again, the great things about the Warriors constantly blowing teams out is that it allows them to get minutes for their young players. Stephen Curry is playing out of his mind again and Golden State can’t be stopped.
