The Orlando Magic have been stuck in rebuilding mode for far too long, and frankly, they know it. Victor Oladipo emphasized earlier this offseason that the time for excuses is over, a message he doubled-down on at the Magic's media day on Friday, which officially tips off Orlando's 2015-16 campaign.
And general manager Rob Hennigan, whose seat could be heating up if the Magic don't show some progress this year, told reporters on Friday that expectations are going up a notch in Orlando. For Hennigan, the expectation is competing for the playoffs:
A Magic run in the Eastern Conference isn't out of the question. The team is young, but there's quite a bit of talent on the roster. And coach Scott Skiles could be a marked improvement over last season. There's a lot that needs to go right for Orlando, sure. But the pieces are in place to prove Hennigan right.
