Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant was closing in Monday on a major movie deal with Warner Bros., The Oklahoman reported.
The as-yet-unnamed project is ready to go into production mid-September, aided by Durant’s expected availability with the NBA’s lockout expected to postpone training camps and, potentially, the 2011-12 season.
The feature-length movie, which is said to have a hoops subplot, will be filmed in either Oklahoma City or Baton Rouge, La.
Durant has already performed starring roles this summer, but kept them to the basketball court.
He scored 66 points at New York’s famed Rucker Park earlier this month and added another 44 points during last Saturday’s matchup between Washington’s Goodman League and Los Angeles’ Drew League in D.C.
