New Orleans Pelicans unveil uniforms

The New Orleans Pelicans home and away jerseys were unveiled Thursday, and by the description in their press release, they were supposed to be dripping with Cajun flare and flavor.
Well . . . the uniforms are, boring. Actually they look as if no effort was put into the making of the jerseys and all the brain power was wasted on the name.
With a logo so unique, one would think they would try to match the weirdness on all levels. There’s no bird in the middle of the jersey with an oversized balloon-like beak and the color combinations are basic.
Here’s what a few fans had to say:
#Pelicans uniforms look like an uninspired Grizz/Pacers mash-up.— Matt Gray (@mattkgray) August 1, 2013
What was the point of rebranding if the new design is boring. Literally, the most boring in the league. #pelicans— jacob knott (@jknott_57) August 1, 2013
The art of sick basketball jerseys is sadly a thing of the past.
Remember the Milwaukee throwback jersey with Bango the Buck looking like he was staring at headlights or a red beam? Or even the old-school Toronto jersey with the raptor about to dish the rock.
There is some good news for fans who want to sport the delta-bird uniform.
The first 500 pre-sold orders made by Sept. 15 will include a voucher for two free tickets to one of the Pelicans’ first three home games of the 2013 regular season.
There had to be some type of benefit to spending money on one of these, right?
Or maybe some of you out there might feel like this guy:
