Lance Stephenson and the Indiana Pacers are reportedly still not close on a deal nearly a week after the team offered him a five-year, $44 million contract.
According to ESPN, the "two sides remain far apart." Citing sources, the report says that Stephenson has begun exploring the free-agent market after being disappointed by the offer.
The report adds that Stephenson has drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. Like much of free agency, though, that interest hinges on the decisions to be made by LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
Dallas is reportedly trying to sign Chandler Parsons from the Houston Rockets and also has interest in other free agents.
According to the report, the Pacers have been unwilling to increase their offer. Citing league sources, the report adds that the Pacers will not do so.
