Grizzlies’ Udrih to have ankle surgery

The Grizzlies better hope Beno isn't hurt too badly.

The Memphis Grizzlies have a lot on their plate this summer. Between Marc Gasol and Kostas Koufos' free agency periods and the obvious need to add more shooting, they won't have an easy time navigating the market in July.

Adding to their stress, now, is the recent news that bench spark plug Beno Udrih isn't well. After sustaining an ankle injury in the first round of the 2015 playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers, Beno was less than his best self against the Golden State Warriors in Round 2. Now, the 32-year-old guard from Slovenia is having surgery on that ankle.

Udrih has informed his national team that he won't be available for the NBA offseason, per Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. Let's hope he's healthy by the time training camp rolls around.
