Dwyane Wade on murder of cousin Nykea Aldridge: 'Enough is enough'

Chicago is home for Dwyane Wade, who left the Miami Heat to join the Bulls this offseason. He was born on the South Side and went to high school in nearby Oak Lawn. Next season was supposed to be a happy homecoming for the three-time NBA champion.

Tragically, that home took a member of the extended Wade family on Friday. Nykea Aldridge, a 32-year-old cousin of Wade's, was reportedly the victim of a gang-related shooting, according to a report from NBC Chicago:

Aldridge was a mother of four, something Wade mentioned in a heartfelt, succinct message he shared on Twitter Friday night:

Last month, Wade joined Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James on stage at the ESPYs, where the NBA stars pleaded for an end to racial profiling and gun violence.

Earlier this week, Wade also joined a number of high-profile Chicagoans in a town hall to discuss violence in the city.
