Celtics played rock-paper-scissors to see who would shoot a late-game free throw

When Justise Winslow of the Miami Heat was whistled for a technical foul late in Sunday’s game against the Celtics, Boston held a nine-point lead with 32 seconds left.

Despite the time remaining on the clock, Celtics players on the floor felt comfortable enough that the game was in hand — so much so that Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley played a game of rock-paper-scissors to determine who would shoot the free-throw attempt.

Crowder won by a final of paper over rock — but missed the foul shot. The Celtics managed to hang on for a 105-95 victory.

This wasn’t as disrespectful as the Cavaliers flipping water bottles on the sidelines during a blowout win over the Knicks, but it’s probably on the spectrum somewhere.
