Boris Diaw has gotten the Utah Jazz completely hooked on coffee

When the Utah Jazz traded for Boris Diaw this summer, they knew they'd be getting an experienced big man to add to their front court. But what they may not have known was that they'd also be getting coffee ... lots of coffee.

The 34-year-old Diaw, who hails from France, is apparently a major caffeine connoisseur and, according to a recent profile by the Wall Street Journal, that interest is spreading across the Jazz organization. In addition to the espresso machine he has at home, Diaw has installed one inside Utah’s practice facility and is already working on a third for the team's home arena.

The Jazz can't escape Diaw's obsession, so instead they've decided to join him.

The team now has a coffee club that "already includes several players, coaches and executives who sip espresso before practices and home games and visit hip coffeeshops on the road." Diaw is the leader of the pack, and a committed leader at that. He reportedly keeps "a mental list of the best coffeeshops in NBA cities based on their walking distance from the team hotel."

Some people hate it when others try to cram their passions down other people's throat (in this case, that applies somewhat literally) but Diaw looks at coffee drinking as a team-building exercise. While the Jazz may not have the most talented team in the NBA, it certainly sounds like they'll have the most caffeinated. It seems pretty fitting, too, considering coffee shops and jazz sort of go hand-in-hand.

No word on how this new club has affected the team's toilet paper budget.
