Blake Griffin soars over Kevon Looney for poster dunk (Video)

In Blake Griffin’s fourth game back from injury, the Los Angeles Clippers power forward threw down a monster dunk over poor Kevon Looney.

If Blake Griffin’s 29-8-5 stat line against the Phoenix Suns Wednesday night wasn’t enough to let the world know he’s back in full force, Thursday’s game gave him another opportunity to prove himself.

Though Griffin’s second game back after missing 17 games with a minor knee surgery was a 46-point smackdown at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the Flyin’ Lion did his best to keep Lob City in the game for the first half of Thursday night’s rematch.

With the Clippers trailing by 11 late in the second quarter, Griffin caught a perfect bounce pass from J.J. Redick and rocketed towards the rim.

Poor Kevon Looney didn’t even stand a chance:

Though Looney, a second-year player who’s dealt with his own injury problems, tried to duck out of the way, he lingered long enough for Griffin to put him on a signature poster. For a guy who once jumped over a Kia Optima in a Slam Dunk Contest, Griffin’s jaw-dropping dunk shouldn’t be surprising in the least.

At halftime, the Clippers trailed Golden State 65-55. Griffin entered the break with a team-high 16 points and four rebounds, shooting 5-of-9 from the floor.

The Clippers are only 1-2 since Griffin returned, with the two losses coming against the dominant Warriors and a Philadelphia 76ers team that appears to be on the rise.

With Chris Paul still sidelined, the Clippers will continue to depend on Blake Griffin to carry the load. If he can regularly supply highlight plays like this, there’s a chance Lob City can hold its own until CP3 is ready to return to the lineup.

Perhaps this will be the night the Clippers finally get their first 30-point game of the season.
