Kroenke gets restraining order after theft
Billionaire sports mogul Stan Kroenke obtained a temporary restraining order against his former property manager, who reportedly tried to shoot himself in the head with a gun stolen from the financial titan's Malibu mansion.
Ex-employee Mark Waldo made the failed suicide attempt after police responded to Kroenke's complaint that the weapon was missing from his hillside home in California, TMZ reported Friday, citing documents.
Kroenke confirmed that Waldo immediately was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold following the incident.
A hearing on whether to extend the protection order -- which demands that Waldo stay 100 yards from Kroenke and his wife -- was set for Dec. 14.
Kroenke recently added English soccer giant Arsenal to his network of sports franchises that includes the St. Louis Rams and the Denver Nuggets.
