Report: Gallinari says he will return Monday
Forward Danilo Gallinari said he will return to the lineup Monday when the New York Knicks (22-17) play the Phoenix Suns (17-21) at Madison Square Garden, ending his time on the shelf due to a sprained left knee at two weeks.
"I'm feeling good," said Gallinari, who practiced with the first team Sunday.
"I want to get back as soon as possible and it will be [Monday]. I feel a little bit of discomfort but I have to live with it. When you're in the game and you have adrenaline going on and the concentration, you have no [pain]."
It is a relatively quick return from what was originally feared to be a much worse injury, and it comes at a perfect time for the Knicks, who need fresh bodies to energize the club after a lifeless performance in Friday's 93-83 loss to the Kings.
It was the Knicks' third loss in four games.
