LeBron James was out of the starting lineup Saturday night against Washington, resting in preparation for the playoffs.
Wade appeared to hurt the finger when it got caught in another player's jersey early in the first quarter Saturday night. He immediately went to the locker room grimacing in pain.
A short time later, the Heat said he'd be forced to miss the rest of the game. The playoffs begin next weekend.
Wade had already missed 14 games this season because of injuries before Saturday night's affair.
With the postseason starting next week, Chris Bosh was held out for the third straight game.
James is treating some minor bumps and bruises but feeling fine, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. James led the Heat in scoring each of the past 12 games.
Bosh has been dealing with minor ailments, and the Heat hope to have him back for Thursady's regular season finale, Spoelstra said.
Center Ronny Turiaf also sat out with a sore hamstring.
The Heat went into Saturday's game chasing Chicago for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
