News: Allen announced Wednesday that he will not play this season, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports.
Impact: Allen was reported to be highly coveted by most contending teams, but after waiting it out through the All-Star break, the veteran has decided not to play this season. He did, however, leave the door open to the possibility of returning next season, though that seems rather unlikely.
