News: Evans is still unsure of the role he will be playing this season in New Orleans, the Times-Picayune reports. Impact: Evans had an up-and-down first season with the Pelicans last year, thriving as a starter and faltering off the bench. However, coach Monty Williams hasn't decided where to put the versatile Evans for the coming season. Williams likes Evans as a guard, where he can play both on and off the ball, but following the departure of Al-Farouq Aminu, the Pelicans have a hole at small forward that Evans can fill—especially now that Omer Asik has been brought in to fortify the defense. Evans, who is still not yet 100 percent but should be by the time training camp starts on September 30, should learn more about his role when Williams returns from his work with Team USA.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans should be fully healthy for the start of training camp September 30, the Times-Picayune reports. Impact: The Pelicans' wing needed off-season surgery on his right knee after being one of the healthiest players in New Orleans during the campaign, but general manager Dell Demps expects Evans and the rest of last year's banged up team to be 100 percent by the time camp starts. A reserve for the majority of last season, Evans struggled to adjust in his first year as a Pelican, but the former Rookie of the Year did thrive as a starter when given the opportunity. Regardless of whether Evans starts or plays with the second unit, he should see plenty of minutes and be productive in his second year in New Orleans.(RotoWire, )
