News: Young scored 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), with four rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Rockets. Impact: Swaggy P is back in business. The Lakers' reserve is getting solid minutes, and this seems to be a trend that won't be slowing down. He and Kobe Bryant are the prime scoring threats for this team, and Young should be a player to look at adding in most fantasy leagues if he's still out there.(RotoWire, )

News: Young (thumb) made his season debut Tuesday. He came off the bench to put up 17 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, and one steal in 28 minutes. Impact: The Lakers enjoyed good production up and down the roster Tuesday. Young is worth taking a flier on in 10- and 12-team leagues or larger, but he'll likely only have streaming value in shallower leagues. In 64 games played last season, he averaged 17.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.1 three-pointers in 28 minutes per game. He shot 44 percent from the field and 83 percent from the free-throw line. If you need scoring or three-pointers, Young can help there.(RotoWire, )

News: Coach Byron Scott confirmed that Young (thumb) will play Tuesday against the Hawks, Baxter Holmes of ESPN reports. Impact: Young, who practiced in full over the weekend, will be available off the bench, likely holding down a similar role to what he played last season under Mike D'Antoni. The unpredictable guard has proven to be more than capable as a scorer, but he has a penchant for inefficiency and doesn't provide much in terms of assists or rebounds. Scott has not stated whether Young will be on a minutes limit in his first game back, but with a healthy Kobe Bryant at shooting guard, it's hard to imagine Young seeing a heavy workload. Assuming Bryant's body doesn't fail him as the season wears on, Young probably won't touch the 28.3 minutes per game he averaged in 2013-14.(RotoWire, )

News: Young (thumb), who plans to make his season debut Tuesday against the Hawks, was a full participant at Saturday's practice, Mark Medina of the LA Daily News reports. Impact: Young remains on track to make his season debut Tuesday, though if there's any kind of minor setback, he'd have another chance the following day in Houston. Young will likely eat into the minutes that have been going to Wes Johnson and Xavier Henry.(RotoWire, )

News: Young (thumb) plans to return Tuesday against the Hawks, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports. Impact: Young has yet to play this season after having surgery on his thumb in early October. The team reportedly confirmed Young is on track to play Tuesday, but nothing has been set in stone. Considering it will be his first game back from injury, there's also a chance he'll play in limited minutes, so that's also something to keep in mind. The Lakers play back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Wednesday would be his next opportunity to return if he doesn't play Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Young (thumb) might be able to return to the court during next week's three-game road trip, the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan reports. Impact: The soonest Young could return to the court according to this new timetable would be Tuesday at Atlanta, but owners in weekly leagues should still be a little cautious about deploying him. The Lakers may ease him back into action too, so he may not be a strong fantasy option until the following week.(RotoWire, )

News: Young (thumb) was able to dribble and shoot three-pointers in practice Monday but will have to wait until next week to partake in full-court in practice, InsideSoCal.com reports. Impact: The earliest we would expect Young to return would be sometime late next week after getting through practice and it can't come soon enough for the Lakers, who are struggling to produce offense. Last season, Young averaged 17.9 points per game on 44 percent shooting in 28 minutes in the sixth man role. He looks to slide straight back into that role when he makes his debut this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Young will have his thumb examined Monday and coach Byron Scott said he will be able to start dribbling and passing with it soon, InsideSoCal.com reports. Impact: Young has been participating in conditioning drills and dribbled and shot with his left hand in recent times, and the Lakers will likely be looking at getting him back toward the end of November. Coach Scott has said he likes Young in the sixth-man role and for the time being, fantasy owners can wait until we get a more defined return date before stashing him onto their rosters.(RotoWire, )
