News: The Memphis Grizzlies have waived Beasley, who had signed a non-guaranteed contract with the team last month. Impact: Beasley, 25, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft after a stellar freshman season with Kansas State. The 6-foot-9 forward owns career averages of 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 24.9 minutes in 409 NBA games with the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. Beasley has made 199 career starts. (STATS, 5:01pm)

News: Beasley will leave the Grizzlies to sign a deal in China, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports. Impact: Beasley, who spent last season with the Heat, had little chance of making an impact with the Grizzlies this season, and signing overseas certainly presents more financial security. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 draft has been one of the more high profile busts in recent memory, but perhaps spending time overseas will allow the mercurial forward to reinvent himself. He's still young and full of potential, so there's a decent chance he returns to the NBA down the road.(RotoWire, )
