News: Nine years after leading the North Carolina men's basketball team to a national championship, Williams returns to the Tar Heel state as a member of the Charlotte Hornets. Impact: "North Carolina has always been like a second home to me," Williams said Monday at an introductory news conference after signing a two-year, $14 million deal. Coach Steve Clifford views the 6-foot-9 Williams as a combo forward, but says his stronger position is power forward. Williams has a good chance to win that starting spot in Charlotte. News: Williams agreed to a two-year, $14 million contract with the Hornets on Saturday, Yahoo! Sports reports. Impact: Williams could step in as the starting power forward, with Josh McRoberts headed for Miami. However, the Bobcats selected Noah Vonleh ninth overall in Junes's draft, and may utilize lineups featuring both Al Jefferson and Cody Zeller in the frontcourt. While Williams also figures to get some run as a small forward in bigger lineups, he's ultimately unlikely to take a big jump from the 25.4 minutes per game he logged last season. He posted modest averages of 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Utah in 2013-14, but did set career-high marks in three-pointers made (1.3) and attempted (3.5).(RotoWire, )
