News: Love will not play for Team USA in the upcoming World Cup because of his current unsettled situation with the Timberwolves, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Impact: With trade rumors swirling after Love indicated he wouldn't sign a contract extension with Minnesota after next season, Love may find a new team by the time Team USA begins playing next month. If Love were to get hurt, it may hinder his ability to influence his next destination since he may agree to a contract extension in a trade.(RotoWire, )

News: Chicago is offering Doug McDermott, Nikola Mrotic and Taj Gibson in a deal for Kevin Love, Sheridan Hoops reports. Impact: There have been media reports in the past week that both the Bulls and Cavs have increased offers for Love (with the Cavs willing to put Andrew Wiggins into a deal). It may take a while to sort out the Love trade sweepstakes, as the Bulls can't finalize a deal for another 29 days because McDermott and Mirotic signed their rookie contracts. NBA rules prevent rookies from being traded within 30 days of signing their contracts. However, Wiggins hasn't signed his rookie contract, which could make the Cavs press the T-Wolves to make a decision soon. It seems more likely that the trade saga will drag on into August, when both teams can easily trade rookies without any restrictions.(RotoWire, )

News: Cleveland is working to acquire non-guaranteed contracts that could be used in a trade for Love, Yahoo! Sports reports. Cleveland would trade Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a future first-round draft pick along with another player to provide cap relief in a potential deal, the report adds. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have also increased efforts to trade for Love, ESPN reports. Impact: The Yahoo! Sports report also mentions the Denver Nuggets as another team in the mix. With Cleveland willing to trade Wiggins and approaching a third team to add non-guaranteed contracts to the mix, it sounds like the two sides are close. Love could be traded soon as a result. One wrinkle in the trade talk is if the Cavs sign Andrew Wiggins to his rookie contract this week. If so, then he can't be traded for 30 days which could prolong the trade talks, although the Cavs may ultimately need to sign him to lock his salary into the trade.(RotoWire, )

News: Cleveland is willing to include Andrew Wiggins in a potential trade for Love, the Northeast Ohio News-Herald and USA Today report. Impact: The Cavs had previously said they were not willing to include Wiggins in a deal, but they seem to have changed their tune with LeBron James reportedly saying he'd like to play with Love. Meanwhile, T-Wovles president Glen Taylor told NBA TV that his preference was for Love to stay with the team, but didn't rule out a possible trade. Much of this trade talk centers on unnamed sources, but it makes sense for the Cavs to trade for Love's known production versus the promise of Wiggins given that they they are in a mode to make a run this season with James joining the team. It sounds like the Love trade talks may heat up the next week with Golden State also a possibility if they would include Klay Thompson.(RotoWire, )

News: A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors have restarted trade talks for All-Star forward Kevin Love. The person requested anonymity because both teams are not publicly commenting on trade discussions. Impact: The two teams had been going back and forth with proposals involving Love since before the draft. But the Warriors' reluctance to include shooting guard Klay Thompson in any package to Minnesota was considered a deal-breaker for the Timberwolves.(STATS, 2:41pm)
