News: McGee (leg) made his preseason debut Tuesday and played just 11 minutes, finishing with one point, two rebounds and one block. Impact: It's no surprise that McGee was limited to just over 10 minutes in his first action in a long time. He missed all three of his shot attempts from the field, and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Most of his potential value comes from his shot-blocking ability, but he hasn't played in 20-plus minutes per game since the 2011-12 season, so it's hard to imagine him being a big part of the Nuggets' rotation, at least not right away.(RotoWire, )

News: McGee (leg) will make his preseason debut Tuesday, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports. Impact: McGee will come off the bench, and Timofey Mozgov will get the start at center Tuesday. McGee's minutes will likely be limited, especially in his first few outings. There is some upside here in terms of blocks, but even when he was fully healthy, McGee never saw big minutes, and hasn't played more than 20 minutes per game since the 2011-12 season, so there are many other players with a higher probability of being productive than McGee.(RotoWire, )

News: McGee (leg) could make his preseason debut Tuesday against the Blazers, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. Impact: McGee suffered a stress fracture in his tibia last season and continues to be hampered by the injury. He's yet to play in the preseason, meaning Timofey Mozgov is likely to open the regular season as the starting center. The team hopes McGee, who has been a full participant in recent practices, will be able to play Tuesday, but if that's not the case, he'll shoot for Friday's exhibition finale against the Warriors.(RotoWire, )

News: McGee (leg) will not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Warriors, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. Impact: McGee will continue to sit out as long as he's experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired leg. Initially expected to compete for the starting center job, McGee now appears unlikely to be ready when the regular season opens.(RotoWire, )

News: McGee (leg) won't play Monday, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports. Impact: This is not surprising, as it was revealed last week that McGee may not be ready for the start of the regular season. With J.J. Hickson also ailing, Timofey Mozgov will see significant run at center.(RotoWire, )

News: McGee (leg) is still experiencing soreness and may not be ready to play when the regular season begins, the Denver Post reports. "What he's going through right now is when he has practiced and he has done physical work out there on the floor, he's the only one that's shown some soreness the next day," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "But from our medical staff they say that's pretty natural, he's going to be sore and then he'll take a day (off) and the soreness will go away and then he'll do a little bit more the next time." Impact: McGee, who appeared in only five games last season, is recovering from a stress fracture in his left tibia. He was initially expected to compete for the opening night starting center spot, but coach Shaw intimated this week that he intends to start Timofey Mozgov, who filled in for McGee much of last season. At this point, McGee will be evaluated on a daily basis, and the Nuggets hope to see marked improvement as the preseason progresses.(RotoWire, )
