News: Smith will come off the bench Wednesday. Impact: Typically Smith's playing time and production stays about the same when he comes off the bench, but it is worth noting. Iman Shumpert will start at shooting guard, and Carmelo Anthony will move back to small forward.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith came up big, scoring 28 points (10-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in 37 minutes on Sunday. Impact: Smith started this game, while Iman Shumpert sat out to nurse a hip injury. The streaky shooter made a case for a larger role on the team, as he was knocking down plenty of shots to keep his team in the game. With few other options offensively, Smith could thrive in place of Shumpert, while he has been producing better rebounding and assist numbers than his career averages in the triangle offense.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith scored a season-high 28 points to help the New York Knicks snap a seven-game losing streak with a 109-93 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Impact: Smith also made 10 of 16 shots in his first start of the season. He was averaging 9.6 points in nine games as a reserve.(STATS, 00:34am)

News: Smith scored 19 points (6-16 FG, 3-8 3P, 4-4 FT) with four rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's loss to the Magic. Impact: It was his best night of the season so far, as he scored in double digits for just the third time in eight games. More often than not Smith and the Knicks just haven't been able to get anything going offensively, and if he's not able to generate more consistent scoring for the club's second he could start losing court time to the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith has been suspended one game by the NBA for hitting Washington's Glen Rice Jr. in the groin. Smith will miss the Knicks' game in Detroit on Wednesday night. Impact: The former Sixth Man of the Year was in trouble with the NBA multiple times last season. He began the season serving a five-game suspension for violating terms of the league's anti-drug program, then later was hit with a $25,000 fine for using hostile and inappropriate language toward the Pistons' Brandon Jennings on his Twitter account, and a $50,000 penalty for untying a player's sneakers during a game.
