News: Thomas led the team in scoring on Thursday against Flamengo of Brazil. He came off the bench to close with 18 points (5-9 FG, 6-7 FT, 2-4 3Pt), four assists, two rebounds, and three steals in 21 minutes, azcentral reports. [-]
Impact: Thomas provided energy and a scoring punch off of the bench, that was especially needed after the team fell into an early defect in the first quarter. He helped lead a couple comebacks by the team, before a 17-0 run that the Suns didn't look back from. Thomas' presence did a few things, first it allowed the Suns to continue playing at an uptempo pace when one, or both of their starting guards, were off the floor. Second, it allowed the other guards to get rest and not overexert themselves. Thomas' solid play should be reassuring to those wary of how he can produce on the guard-heavy Suns. However, those looking to draft the guard should continue to see how Hornacek uses Thomas through the rest of the preseason.
