News: Shumpert said Monday that his surgically repaired knee is fully healthy and stronger than last season, Ian Begley of ESPN New York reports. Impact: Shumpert suffered a torn ACL in the playoffs two seasons ago and was still hampered by the injury last season. He shot just a hair over 50 percent at the rim and seemed to lack some of the explosiveness he possessed in the past. Now fully healthy, Shumpert said he hopes to get to the rim more quickly this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Shumpert and the Knicks have not had any contact regarding a possible rookie scale contract extension, ESPN New York reports. Impact: Shumpert is entering the final year of his rookie contract, making him eligible to sign a rookie scale extension between now and Oct. 31. However, the Knicks aren't expected to pursue such a deal, since the team wants to save cap space for the 2015 offseason and is also content with allowing Shumpert to become a restricted free agent at that time. For the time being, Shumpert will remain with the Knicks as the team's best perimeter defender and hope to make a smooth transition into the team's triangle offense this season.(RotoWire, )
