News: Gooden re-signed with the Wizards on Friday, Monumental Network reports. "The addition of Drew was a big part of our success late last season and we are excited to have him back with us," Wizards' President Ernie Grunfeld said. "His skills will help to solidify our front court rotation and his experience will help us continue to grow as a team." Impact: Gooden was a pleasant surprise in 22 games for Washington last season, averaging 8.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game. The veteran signed a pair of ten-day deals before signing for the rest of the season on March 18. He was a regular in the playoff rotation and posted 12 points and 13 rebounds in the Wizards' Game 1 victory over Indiana in the Easter Conference Semifinals. Impact: The 12-year NBA veteran originally signed a 10-day contract with Washington on Feb. 26, and eventually signed for the remainder of the season on March 18. The 6-foot-10 Gooden appeared in 22 regular season games for Washington last season, averaging 8.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.
