News: Caldwell-Pope (knee) is in line for an expanded role after the Pistons announced Jodie Meeks (back) would miss at least eight weeks. Impact: Caldwell-Pope is dealing with a left knee strain, which will keep him sidelined for a couple more preseason games, but the second-year shooting guard now seems to have a direct path to the starting lineup with Meeks on the shelf. While we'll still need to see if Caldwell-Pope can avoid any injury setbacks and earn the starting gig, he certainly becomes a more interesting late-round dart with Meeks out of the picture for the first quarter of the regular season.(RotoWire, )

News: Caldwell-Pope (knee) will miss the Pistons' next three preseason games, before being re-evaluated next week, the Oakland Press reports. Impact: Caldwell-Pope suffered a left knee strain Sunday and fortunately a Monday MRI revealed no structural damage. Nonetheless, the second-year swingman will be held out of Detroit's three preseason games on the road this week. Following that rest period, KCP will be re-examined next week, putting his earliest possible return date at Oct. 23 versus the 76ers.(RotoWire, )

Impact: Caldwell-Pope will be further evaluated when the team returns to Detroit, but at this point it looks as though he'll miss more than just a day or two.
