News: Evans started at small forward and played 20 minutes on Monday, scoring 10 points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3P, 4-4 FT) with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. Impact: He's still getting his legs back under him after being limited by a hamstring injury earlier in the preseason, but Evans put up a very fantasy-friendly line in just his second exhibition game. If he remains in the starting five instead of coming off the bench as he did for most of last season, Evans could put up some interesting numbers.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans (hamstring) will start Thursday's preseason game versus the Thunder. Impact: Evans has been sidelined by a hamstring problem so far this preseason, but will make his exhibition debut Thursday. With Eric Gordon (back) out, Evans is expected to start at shooting guard. However, once the regular season begins, the versatile wing may fill New Orleans' small forward or even sixth man role. As a result, it should be worthwhile to monitor Evans' play and positioning throughout the preseason.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans (hamstring) is considered probable to make his preseason debut Thursday against Oklahoma City, Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Impact: A hamstring injury has kept Evans from seeing the floor thus far in the preseason, but it appears as though he's finally ready to return to action. Evans played well as the fill-in point guard after Jrue Holiday was lost to injury last season, but he'll slide back to small forward with both Holiday and Eric Gordon healthy. The wing may not be Evans' most natural spot, though, and it's possible he could shift to a sixth man role at some point to see more time in the backcourt.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans (hamstring) will not play Tuesday against Houston but hopes to be available Thursday against Oklahoma City. "I feel much better," Evans said. "When I make a move, I don't feel anything pulling too badly. The hamstring is tricky; some days it's good, some days it isn't. I've been doing a good job of icing it and getting my rehab in." Impact: Evans is yet to play this preseason after aggravating a left hamstring injury prior to training camp. He practiced for the first time over the weekend and hopes to see time in at least two of the Pelicans' four remaining preseason games. Barring a setback, it appears he'll attempt to give it a go Thursday, and he could play again Monday, Oct. 20 (versus Washington) if all goes smoothly.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans (hamstring) is emerging as the likely starter at small forward, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. "Tyreke right now in my head, that's where he is going to play (at small forward)," coach Monty Williams said. "Playing Tyreke at the three for 30 or 35 minutes doesn't benefit him to go down there and bang with 6 (feet) 8 or 6 (feet) 9 guys who can go down there and post him up. Conversely those guys have to guard him in transition and in pick and roll." Impact: During the offseason, it appeared the Pelicans were prepared to bring Evans off the bench as a sixth man, enabling him to see time at small forward, as well as both guard positions. However, with Darius Miller, Luke Babbitt and John Salmons each failing to grab hold of the starting job, the Pelicans are leaning toward inserting Evans into the lineup. It's not set in stone, though, and Williams was clear that the starting spot is still up for grabs. "I want to see John [Salmons] in the starting group a little bit to see if his experience and know how can help that group. It's still open right now," Williams said.(RotoWire, )

News: Evans (hamstring) went through a non-contact practice Saturday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Impact: Evans, who was injured in a pickup game in late September, was only able to get in "some work" Saturday, but coach Monty Williams said it went well. It represents a positive step toward Evans' goal of being ready for the Pelicans' Oct. 28 regluar-season opener against the Magic.(RotoWire, )
