News: The New York Knicks have signed forward/center Kevin Seraphin, who averaged 6.6 points last season with the Washington Wizards. The Knicks announced the signing Thursday.
Impact: The 6-foot-10 Seraphin appeared in 79 games for the Wizards last season and shot 51 percent from the field.

News: Seraphin signed a one-year, $2.8 million deal with the Knicks on Tuesday, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports.
Impact: Seraphin has been a consistent bench contributor for Washington over the last few seasons, but he's yet to prove capable of handling a consistent starting role. Last season, he averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 15.6 minutes but was unable to move ahead of Marcin Gortat and Nene in the frontcourt rotation. While Seraphin previously stated that he hoped to find a new home where he could start, he projects to come off the bench behind Robin Lopez, who signed as a free agent this summer. Seraphin will compete, primarily, with Kyle O'Quinn for frontcourt minutes, but it's unclear whether he'll have enough of a role to warrant fantasy value in traditional league formats.
