News: Adrien was waived by the Pelicans on Saturday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Impact: Despite the many injuries the Pelicans are dealing with heading into the season, there wasn't enough room on the roster for the team to justify carrying Adrien. At 6-foot-7, Adrien is undersized at the power forward spot, and didn't show enough production in the preseason to assuage any concerns the Pelicans may have had about him. He'll likely open the season in the D-League or overseas.
Rotowire: Oct 20 / 1:22a ET
News: Adrien tallied 11 points (3-3 FG, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two steals, and a block in a preseason loss to the Rockets on Monday.
Impact: It's a nice showing for Adrien, but due to his low standing on the Pelicans' depth chart, it's far from guaranteed that Monday's performance will be enough for him to garner a roster spot when the preseason draws to a close.
Rotowire: Sep 23 / 8:41a ET
News: Adrien signed with the Pelicans on Wednesday.
Impact: Adrien will have to impress during training camp to be awarded a spot on the final 15-man roster when the regular season rolls around. He appeared in 17 games for the Timberwolves last season and will have to beat out the likes of Chris Douglas-Roberts, Luke Babbitt, and Alonzo Gee for a limited spot in the rotation, if he even makes the team.
