Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers
Star of the night
Team Chuck guard Kyrie Irving of the Cavaliers holds up the MVP trophy of the NBA Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night in Orlando, Fla. Irving earns the honor after scoring a game-high 34 points, hitting 8-of-8 3-pointers and adding a team-high nine assists, as Team Chuck defeats Team Shaq 146-133.
Another rising star
Kyrie Irving's Cleveland teammate Tristan Thompson throws down two of his team-high 20 points at the Amway Center. Unfortunately for the Cavs rookie, he's not on Irving's team on this night and is on Team Shaq, which loses by 13.
Charlotte's Kemba Walker of Team Shaq, drives through a soft Team Chuck defense during the Friday night contest. Walker finishes with 10 points and a game-high 10 assists in the loss.
Wizard of DC
Team Chuck guard John Wall of the Washington Wizards jams home two of his 17 points for the winning team. Wall's night also includes eight assists and six rebounds.
Ru ru Rubio
Team Shaq guard Ricky Rubio of the Timberwolves shoots during the first half. Rubio scores 12 points and adds seven assists in the losing cause.
Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins and Detroit's Greg Monroe battle for a rebound. Cousins ties for a game-high 11 boards and adds 18 points for the winning Team Chuck squad. Monroe leads Team Shaq with 10 boards, while scoring 19 points and adding a game-high five steals in the loss.
Team Shaq general manager Shaquille O'Neal appreciates the play of Pistons guard Brandon Knight, but he can't be happy with the 13-point loss to Charles Barkley's club, can he?
In a surprise move, Clippers forward Blake Griffin, who tallies 10 points, lays it up instead of scoring one of his famous slam dunks. Maybe this is why his Team Shaq club came up short.
Pass it on
Team Chuck guard MarShon Brooks of the New Jersey Nets makes a pass while being defended by Team Shaq's Markieff Morris of the Phoenix Suns during the first half. Brooks nets eight points in the win, while Morris scores 12 points for the losing team.
Ahead of the Pace
Indiana's Paul George shoots over Minnesota's Ricky Rubio during the second half. George sinks 10-of-17 shots from the field and finishes with 23 points for the winning team.
Where to go?
Detroit's Brandon Knight looks for an opening during his 14-point, seven-assist performance. Unfortunately, Knight is on the losing Team Shaq squad.
Team Shaq's Markieff Morris of the Suns dunks during the first half. Morris' 12-point effort includes 5-of-7 field goals, which 2-of-3 were from behind the arc ... but this bucket might be his easiest of the evening.
