Ty Dillon on pole for Nationwide race in Las Vegas; Keselowski 2nd

Ty Dillon qualified on the pole for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ty Dillon won the pole for this afternoon’s Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Dillon’s No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet had a best lap of 182.278 miles per hour in the third and final round of qualifying to capture the No. 1 starting spot for today’s race. The pole was Dillon’s first in 15 career Nationwide Series starts.

Brad Keselowski was second fast at 181.702 mph in his No. 22 Penske Racing Ford. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Larson and Brian Scott completed the top five qualifiers.

Regan Smith comes into today’s race leading the points ahead of Trevor Bayne (-5), Elliott Sadler (-6) and Dillon (-12).
