Three cars fail post-race inspection following Can-Am Duels

Following Thursday night’s Can-Am Duel 150 qualifying races at Daytona International Speedway, three cars failed post-race height inspection.

Both JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolets of AJ Allmendinger and Chris Buescher were too low at the height station, as was the Furniture Row Racing Toyota of Martin Truex Jr.

With the Duels paying points for the first time, the penalties were costly: Allmendinger lost the 7 points he should have gotten for finishing fourth in the second Duel, while Truex, who was seventh in Duel 1, lost 4 points.

Buescher finished 16th in Duel 1, so he didn’t earn any points.

Truex and teammate Erik Jones have had multiple inspection issues with their cars during Speedweeks so far.
