Kwikset, a leading brand of the Hardware and Home Improvement division of Spectrum Brands Holdings, will be the primary sponsor for driver Ryan Newman in the May 10 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway, Richard Childress Racing announced on Tuesday.
The company, which specializes in innovation and home security, will also be an associate sponsor on Newman's No. 31 Chevrolet in every race for the remainder of 2014.
Kwikset and RCR enjoyed a similar partnership in 2013 but this season marks the sponsor's first association with Newman, a first-year RCR driver and Sprint Cup Series veteran with 17 wins in NASCAR's top division.
"We view Kwikset as a great partner and we look forward to working with them to help spread their safety and innovation message," said RCR owner and founder Richard Childress. "Kwikset has shown they are strongly committed to NASCAR and we're thrilled we are teaming up with them again this season."
Newman, who joined RCR this year after lengthy runs with Stewart-Haas Racing and Penske Racing, looks forward to campaigning the Kwikset colors on his No. 31.
"Safety is important in all aspects of my life, so the partnership with Kwikset made perfect sense for our team," said Newman, who is ninth in points with two top-10s in his first four starts with RCR. "I'm excited to have their logo on my car this year and look forward to educating fans about innovations in security on and off the track."
