DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – Greg Biffle expects to renew his contract with Roush Fenway Racing early this season.
“We’ve been at that for about the last half of last year and over the winter and talking with (sponsor) 3M,” Biffle said. “It’s kind of a mutual negotiation, so we’re well on our way to probably announcing something in the first quarter.”
Biffle, 44, was drafted by team owner Jack Roush in 1998 to drive in NASCAR’s Truck series. He won the rookie title that year and the championship in 2000. In 2001, Biffle moved up to the Nationwide tour and repeated that feat – proceeding to win rookie honors and the 2002 championship.
The following year, the Vancouver, Wash., native graduated to Sprint Cup – where he is still seeking NASCAR’s triple crown. Biffle’s best season in Cup came in 2005, when he won six races and finished second in points. Biffle has 19 career Cup wins in 402 starts.
