Fans weigh in: New paint scheme for Earnhardt Jr. rated 'awesome'

The NASCAR race fans have spoken again.

Asked on Monday what they thought of the new 2017 primary paint scheme for the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet that presumably will be driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., the fans overwhelmingly gave it a huge thumbs-up. Fifty-eight percent of those who responded to the 24-hour FOXSports.com poll said it was "awesome."

Nineteen percent of those who participated in the poll rated the paint scheme as "good," followed by nine percent who thought it was "only average" and six percent who rated it "below average."

Then there were the eight percent who no doubt invoked the memory of Junior's late father, who made the iconic black No. 3 car so famous. They said of Dale Jr.'s new ride simply "paint it black."
