Chase Elliott is overwhelming choice to be most improved young driver in 2017
Chase Elliott is the overwhelming choice of race fans who were asked which young driver they expect to see show the most improvement in the NASCAR Premier Series in 2017.
In the latest 24-hour FOXSports.com NASCAR poll, Elliott, the driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, was the choice of 56 percent of the voters who weighed in.
That easily outdistanced Ryan Blaney, who came in second place but with just 20 percent of the votes. Blaney drives the No. 21 Ford for Wood Brothers Racing.
Blaney was followed closely by Chip Ganassi Racing's Kyle Larson with 17 percent, but after that there was a huge dropoff.
Chris Buescher and Austin Dillon each earned just 3 percent of the votes cast, while Trevor Bayne brought up the rear (which obviously fans expect him to do quite often next season) with just 1 percent.
