Big crash on restart damages several cars early in Stage 3

Shortly after Stage 3 of the STP 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race began at Martinsville Speedway, there was mayhem in the form of a multi-car pileup in Turn 1.

Five-time Martinsville winner Denny Hamlin’s Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas was one of several cars collected in the incident, along with the Stewart-Haas Racing Fords of Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Austin Dillon and others.

Busch made repairs, went back on the track and then crashed again shortly thereafter, knocking him out of the race.
