Roush Rookie Watch: Back to the bullring
Hope everyone's had a good few weeks. If feels like it's been a lot longer since I checked in last! We've been off and on the road; it's been a strange schedule. While the Busch and Cup guys have been racing on a regular basis, we've only raced once since I last wrote. We had a pretty good outing in Atlanta. We unloaded fast off the truck, and we had great practice sessions. It took me a few laps to get familiar with the place, but once I did, I felt confident in holding it wide-open and getting in some fast laps. We thought we had a pretty good F-150 for the race, and we were ready to show it. We qualified third, which was great for the Woolrich Ford. We felt confident, and we were able to back up our expectations. The truck was really loose during the race. We tried a few things throughout the course of the race, and while we made some gains, we never could get it where we wanted. It was a learning experience, and we'll take away quite a bit of knowledge from the weekend. I think we'll be able to think back to this race and have a different approach to some things that will help us in the future. We finished the night in the eighth position, our second top-10 finish of the year. It really has been a great start to the season. I hope we're able to continue to build on what we've accomplished so far.

We head to Martinsville Speedway next, our first short track race of the year. I've got some laps here during the filming of Roush Racing: Driver X; so, for the first time this year, I'll head into a track and feel I've got some experience to take advantage of. We competed in single-truck runs; so it will be different when we're two-wide all around the place. After Martinsville, it's another few weeks of downtime. I wish we had a few more races on the schedule. It would be nice to be racing on a more regular basis. The schedule picks up in a few months; so we'll get our wish then. We'll check in again in a few weeks and give you another update. Thanks for the support you've given us this year.
