NASCAR THIS MORNING - Bill Ingle bio
NASCAR THIS MORNING Analyst
Veteran crew chief Bill Ingle serves as an analyst on FOX Sports Net's Sunday morning pre-race show, NASCAR THIS MORNING. Ingle works alongside Chad Little, Kenny Wallace, pit lane reporter Winston Kelley and host John Roberts.
Ingle's passion for racing began as a young boy as he worked alongside his two uncles at the Concord and Metroline dirt tracks, the same tracks that gave the likes of Dale Earnhardt and current NASCAR on FOX pre-race analyst Jeff Hammond their start. Following high school, Ingle opened his own automotive electrical business, specializing in rebuilding diesel electrical components.
In 1983, Ingle took a job with the legendary Junior Johnson and worked with the teams of current NASCAR on FOX race analyst and renowned driver Darrell Waltrip and the late Neil Bonner until 1987. He then moved on to be co-crew chief for the late Alan Kulwicki, helping Kulwicki to get his first-ever pole position (Richmond, 1987). Ingle then spent over five years working with the Bahari Race Team and Michael Waltrip, helping Michael to his only two career poles. While at Bahari Racing, Ingle was involved in several television commercials for Tide and Penzoil and also served as a spokesperson for Lions Clubs.
In 1994, Ingle helped Ricky Rudd start his own Winston Cup operation from the ground floor up. That year, Rudd finished fifth in the overall points race, and Ingle was awarded the UAW-GM Teamwork of Excellence Award. After two years with Rudd, Ingle took a position as general manager for Gary Bechtel's Diamond Ridge Motorsports, where he formed two successful Busch Grand National teams with Jeff Green and Elliott Sadler.
Born April 21, 1956, Ingle is married to Dr. Patricia London. The couple have five children and currently reside in Concord, N.C.
