Recent Truck winner Crafton returns to ARCA
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran Matt Crafton is taking on a little extracurricular racing this weekend, competing in the Ansell Protective Gloves 200 ARCA Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.
Crafton, driver of the No. 88 Menards Chevrolet in the Truck series, will be entering his second ARCA race of the season. He will also be competing in the Truck series race at LORI this weekend. He is currently sixth in the Truck standings.
"I'm really looking forward to going to Indy, and I'm excited about ARCA coming to Lucas Oil Raceway," said Crafton. "This is one of the best short tracks we race at. We're going to see a lot of side-by-side racing this weekend, a lot of hard racing."
In the ARCA race, Crafton will drive the No. 88 Messina Wildlife Management/Menards Ford from Kimmel Racing. He has three starts in the ARCA series in his career and is entered this weekend as part of an overall Menards Racing program in the series.
Crafton and ThorSport earned their second Truck series victory together recently at Iowa Speedway, holding off Austin Dillon in the final laps for his first win since 2008.
"This is a fun track so my advice is to have fun and be ready to race hard," Crafton said. "This is a big track for Menards so I'm really looking forward to a great race in ARCA and the trucks."
The ARCA race is slated for Thursday.
