Ana from Atlanta, Ga.: Do you think Kasey Kahne is excited to have Budweiser on his car next year? He has been working with Dodge most of the time he's been racing. I am disappointed that his car will have Budweiser on it next year. Being a fan of Kasey's, I like Dodge a lot better. Jeff Hammond: I understand your sentiment, but this sponsorship is really a two-fold situation. Dodge could use some relief from paying the entire freight of keeping the No. 9 and 19 teams going. And another good thing about is while it reportedly won't be red every week, it will predominantly be a red car so the color scheme should remain basically the same. Trust me from experience, Budweiser is a great sponsor. We've seen that all the way back to when Darrell Waltrip, Neil Bonnett and Bill Elliott drove for them through Dale Earnhardt Jr. It's going to be a great relationship, and Kahne will represent them as well as Dale Jr. I hope fans will embrace this sponsorship for him because they're a valued company. They're basically old school.

Some people may say, "Well, they're promoting people getting drunk." Nobody promotes getting drunk, and Kahne can have an influence on young people for Budweiser, promoting responsible drinking. Young folks may say, "Hey, if Kasey says it, maybe that's the way it needs to be."

DW didn't do No. 88 Dew car

Doretta from Canyon, Texas: I know DW drove the Gatorade No. 88 and the Mountain Dew No. 11, but did he ever drive the Mountain Dew No. 88? Please help settle a family dispute. Jeff Hammond: To the best of my knowledge, he's never driven a No. 88 Mountain Dew car. It was always the No. 11, or he may have driven a No. 17 Mountain Dew car one time. Yes, he did drive the No. 88 Gatorade car. I'm so used to seeing him in the No. 11 and No. 17 that I had totally forgotten about him driving the No. 88. When we talk about history and the opportunity to make a number great — if it comes to pass the way we hear it's going to with Dale Jr. driving the 88 — he'll be joining a list of distinguished men who have driven that number. Darrell Waltrip, Donnie Allison, Buddy Baker, Buck Baker and Dale Jarrett have driven the No. 88, and those drivers are the ones that I remember off the top of my head.

HorsePower Tee Shot Tour

For the average golfer, it's phenomenal to watch Power Golfers launch drives 300 yards and then belt them 385 yards when they get cranked up. It's like, "OK, game on." Through HorsePower Sports Marketing, we're creating a competition between these professionals and race car drivers next year on SPEED.

Speed Mail Jeff Hammond

This week, it's almost like qualifying for a NASCAR race with four golfers already set and 35 competitors vying for four spots. It's a great opportunity to take two sports — racing and golf — that people love, watch and participate in and combine them. When you think about horsepower in racing, the same analogies about power and speed cross over into golf with club head speeds in excess of 110 mph when making contact with the ball. It's a fascinating combination of torque and biomechanics.

FOX race analyst Jeff Hammond led Darrell Waltrip to two of DW's three Winston Cup championships as his crew chief. They also teamed to win the 1989 Daytona 500.
