Sights And Sounds: Talladega Superspeedway

9:45 a.m. ET — It’s race day at Talladega Superspeedway! The campfires are still burning, the fans are milling around and the NASCAR community prepares for the ‘wild card’ race of the Chase.

Butterflies, nerves and tensions are high, as uncertaintly surrounds today’s Camping World RV Sales 500. 

If Saturday’s wild finish to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is any indication of things to come, there are sure to be lots of drama and torn up sheet metal at the end of the day. 

9:50 a.m. ET — Declining interviews after Saturday’s wild wreck, Miguel Paludo updated fans on his condition via Twitter. 

10:20 a.m. ET — What would Talladega be without a little Shake and Bake?! Kurt Busch is bringing back the Talladega Nights theme running the Wonder Bread car in today’s race. 

10:40 a.m. ET — There’s always a great turnout for NASCAR RaceDay when the series rolls around to Talladega Superspeedway!

11:05 a.m. ET — With Austin Dillon driving the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet, Mark Martin will be watching Sunday’s race on the outside, hoping for a clean race. 

11:10 a.m. ET — Pit crews are hard at work setting up their stalls, while other crew members run the cars through NASCAR technical inspection. 

11:25 a.m. ET — While the crews are working hard to get ready for Sunday’s race, the drivers are making the rounds at hospitality events and fan meet-and-greets.

11:40 a.m. ET — Joey Logano hopes to give crew chief Todd Gordon a win for his birthday, while Stewart-Haas Racing crew chief Steve Addington flew home to be with his wife for the birth of their child. 

12:05 p.m. ET — It’s a packed house for the driver’s meeting. 

12:50 p.m. ET — Drivers and team owners are signing autographs for fans, while some fans had the chance to sign the start/finish line!

2:00 p.m. ET — Continuing to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Chevrolet pace car is rocking the pink today at Talladega.

2:05 p.m. ET — Can David Ragan and Front Row Motorsports repeat their underdog win from earlier this year?

2:10 p.m. ET — The anthem has been sung, the drivers are in their cars, it’s time to go racing at Talladega Superspeedway! Follow the action with live timing and scoring, along with updates all day long on’s RaceTrax.
